High Density Fibreboard (HDF) is a higher density version of ordinary Medium Density Fibreboard, more commonly known as MDF. This is an engineered wood product, made from the by-products of sawmill operations. It is formed by breaking down softwood into wood fibres and, in combination with wax and resin, forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure. In the long term HDF is fully bio-degradable. |

There are many benefits in the use of HDF; unlike real timber it does not warp, shrink or split with changes in temperature or humidity. It is easily machined, with minimal waste, and in use it is strong and rigid. It will, however, swell if immersed in water for a prolonged period, and for this reason our products are not designed for external use. |

HDF panels have a smooth light brown surface that can be spray finished and printed in any colour. |
